Early 2014 I was prayerfully seeking God’s guidance about what ministry I could become involved. Our Children’s Minister approached me about facilitating a ministry that had recently begun. I was so excited…an opportunity to minister and with newborns and their moms. We simply call it the Cradle Ministry. This ministry provides a mentor to any woman that is expecting. We follow them throughout their pregnancy. This is a prayer and encouragement ministry. We keep it very positive. The mentors call, text, or email their mentee every Monday and seek prayer requests and just general info on how they are doing. They go to lunch together, and mail cards. Then they share that information with me and the mentors and I together pray for these moms and their unborn babies and their families.
This is such a fulfilling ministry. I visit the moms and dads in the hospital and sometimes their homes following the birth. We’ve had lots of babies born since April, 2014…45 to be exact!
Our church is a great place to be. Young families are everywhere. They are committed to serving the Lord, raising their families under His guidance. They continuously seek his wisdom and they are accountable to each other through their small groups.
I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I enjoyed all these babies…yes!!! And besides it has given me plenty of practice for being a Grandmama!
